But one thing to remember is that Xylitol (aka birch sugar) is toxic to cats and dogs, so if you decide to try her regimen, keep the Xylitol completely out of reach of pets.

That is really interesting but yes, I have always avoided anything with Xylitol because of the toxicity to dogs, and cats. I remember one dog, I think Sufi, he loved gum and would search it out! Cats could get curious about it too I bet. I might get some Xylitol gum though and keep it in the medicine cabinet.
